We've Got the Dog

Have you ever wondered if you will see your beloved pet again after they have passed?

Well if so, here is a story that you may find interesting…

A few years ago, I attended a fundraiser for the New Hampshire SPCA in Stratham, New Hampshire.

For the event, there were 2 psychic / mediums – people who can communicate with those that have either passed, or others (like animals) who don’t readily speak in a way that most of us can easily understand them.

As a participant in the fundraiser, members in the audience could potentially receive personal messages either from a person that had passed or an animal who wanted to communicate with them.  The animal could be either living now or had passed.  And even if the animal was still living, the animal was not at the event – these types of things can happen remotely – without the animal being physically present in the room.

The format was that everyone in attendance was seated in a single large room. The event was broken up into 2 segments, one segment for each of the 2 psychics, with a break in between.

During each segment, the psychic would call upon individual members of the audience who had either a loved one or animal that wanted to communicate with them.  Audience members could not raise their hand, they just waited to be called upon.

There were probably at least a couple of hundred people in the room, so not everyone got a reading – but it was very enjoyable and fascinating to witness all the connections happening.

The first psychic was Danielle McKinnon – Danielle’s specialty is communicating with animals whether they are still alive or have passed.  https://www.daniellemackinnon.com   During her segment Danielle probably called upon 10 people or so.

Well, as circumstances would go, I was the last person in this segment to be called upon by Danielle because our yellow Labrador Retriever named Sumo wanted to come through! Sumo had passed at the very young age of 7 a few years back from the time of this event.  All very fun and surprising to hear from him!

Danielle had never met our dog before, but relayed information that was very typical and unique of him.  I felt like she was definitely connected with him, and Sumo’s main message for me was one of encouragement.  I often am dismissive of what I can offer, and he was hoping to prod me along a bit I believe to pursue things I am interested in.

So that was exciting to have a reading from my dog and receive that dose of encouragement!

OK, so then it was time for a break.  The break probably lasted 20 minutes and after that time, everyone got back to their seats in time for the second segment.

The psychic in the second segment was John Holland.  https://johnholland.com  I don’t know if you have ever had the opportunity to see John’s work, but he is AMAZING.  He focuses on communicating with people who have passed and thus goes more by the term “spiritual medium” – since he communicates with those in spirit.

Well as John makes his entrance going down the aisle from the back of the room to the front, he was in a totally focused “zone” and literally shouts out “Who was the person that had Sumo?

Gulp.  Ok, that was me, so I raised my hand.

He turns to me and the first thing he says is “They want you to know that they’ve got the dog!”

I was like What?  You mean Sumo?  Who has Sumo?

John then proceeded to describe both my father-in-law and my brother-in-law to a T!

Again, I had not interacted with John before that time, nor did he know our family history, but a few years before this event, and actually just a couple of months after Sumo had passed, my father-in-law Andy and his son Steve both tragically died within a week of each other.

Before I could say anything, John was walking in the room (specifically how my father-in-law carried himself) and describing the characteristics of both these amazing men as well as describing why they had both passed.  Both died of cancer, but John pinpointed where in the bodies the malignancies had started.  It was crazy…

But the real point they wanted to make was that “They had the dog! and all was very good!”

John then asked “Who is Margaret?”

…and then it took me a few moments because the name was not immediately familiar to me – but then I remembered that Margaret was a very good friend of both my In-laws (I had spent many fun dinners with Margaret).  She had passed a few years before Andy and Steve did, and she was apparently there too with the group and Sumo!

So… with that verifiable information in my book – I am completely convinced that when we transition from this life onto something else, there will be those that have loved us (both human and animal) ready to join in and we can all be together once more.

After my reading, John then continued calling upon other folks who had loved ones on the other side that wanted to communicate.  You could tell by the audience members’ reactions and feedback that he was making very real connections.  It was an honor to witness.

This, to me, falls into the category that you can’t make this stuff up!

I am very grateful to both Danielle and John for sharing their gifts, and I hope this example gives you a chance to pause and consider that those we love (both human and animal) who have passed are indeed still with us and we will be with them again.

As a follow-up to this idea, I have encountered 2 things recently.

One – I recently look one of my dogs in to the conventional veterinarian for his annual checkup.  While waiting in the exam room with him, I noticed that had written above the door the following “ We believe all pets go to heaven.”  I really loved that and it speaks to the perspective of this veterinarian office which I value.

Secondly, I recently saw the last interview Jane Goodall gave.  It purposely aired after she had passed.  During the interview, Jane wondered out loud if, after she passed, she would ever see her beloved dog or some of the animals she had so closely worked with.  I can say after my experience, I believe she is now with them all.

Much love,

Gina
