Here are some questions we have gotten regarding our 3 ingredient grain free dog treats.
WHAT'S IN YOUR GRAIN FREE DOG TREAT RECIPES?
Our recipes are as close as you will find to homemade grain free dog treats.
The base is chickpea flour (also known as garbanzo bean flour) and olive oil. Depending on the recipe, we add to the base:
Parmesan Cheese - We only use the most natural, fresh Parmesan Cheese available. It is made with pasteurized cow's milk, culture, salt and enzymes - it has no preservatives or other odd ingredients.
Peanut Butter - We only use an all natural Peanut Butter - there are NO preservatives or additives such as Xylitol which is not good for dogs. We are currently using Teddie's Natural Peanut Butter (made of just peanuts and salt) which is a true fan favorite! These peanut butter dog treats are also vegan, thus have NO ANIMAL PROTEIN, making them very helpful for dogs allergic to various animal meats.
Apple - To make our Apple Recipe treats we use an unsweetened applesauce - pure and simple. This recipe is particularly great for dogs with many food sensitivities or allergies. It is hypoallergenic, vegan, and again having NO ANIMAL PROTEIN, they are perfect for dogs allergic to various animal meats.
ARE YOUR TREATS GLUTEN FREE?
We get this question A LOT, and the answer is YES!!! We are gluten free, grain free, and also do not use any wheat, corn or soy in our dog treats. Having said that, they are made in a kitchen that handles wheat, peanuts and tree nuts, so we can not get a gluten-free, or nut-free certification, but we do our best to keep everything wiped down and as clean as possible when making each recipe.
FOR HOW LONG DO YOUR TREATS STAY FRESH?
Our treats are baked dry so they stay fresh for up to a year or more. Best to keep them out of direct sun and in a cool, dry place.
HOW DO SUBSCRIPTIONS WORK?
Setting up a subscription is an easy way to have Good Paws dog treats automatically delivered to you on a regular basis. You don't have to think about reordering, and you will receive a product discount by subscribing!
Just select the "Subscribe and Save" option when adding our large dog treat bags to your shopping cart. Then select how often you would like the treats delivered. All the rest of the needed information will be gathered when you checkout.
If you ever want to make changes to your subscription - such as, which recipe, number of bags, delivery frequency, or need to skip or cancel a subscription, please email us at company@goodpawsbakery.com with the details and we will get back to you promptly with the changes made!
Any credit card changes must be made directly by you. Again, just email us at company@goodpawsbakery.com and we will send you a link to make the changes.

WHERE DO YOU MAKE YOUR TREATS?
We make our treats in a commercial kitchen by folks who are very passionate and caring about their work.
I HAVE A PICKY EATER. DO YOU THINK MY DOG WILL LIKE GOOD PAWS TREATS?
To the surprise of their people, we have honestly had many dogs that are picky eaters love our treats. But we have also had a few that do not. If you have a picky eater, we know it can be difficult to find a treat that your dog will enjoy, so please try a sample package!
As I am sure you know, dogs have an incredible sense of smell. If your dog has never had a chickpea based treat or dog food before, they may be hesitant to try something new like this. Sometimes they play with the treat for a while before trying it. Or alternatively, I broken the treat in pieces and given the dog a piece. That in turn seems to "open the gate / smell" so to speak for them to try it and usually happy wags follow.
Your and your dog's satisfaction are our main concerns, so if your dog does not like our treats, no worries! We have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. YOUR TREATS ARE TOO HARD FOR MY DOG. WHAT CAN I DO?
We bake our treats dry so that they stay fresh a long time, but this process also makes them crunchy. If this type of treat is too difficult for your dog to comfortably enjoy, try placing a few treats in a bowl of water and microwaving it for about 1 minute. When finished, take the bowl out of the microwave and let it cool for a while. The longer you wait, the softer the treats will become. Please be sure to keep any treats you have processed this way in the refrigerator and monitor to make sure they have not spoiled. Having that extra moisture from the water may cause them them to eventually spoil so you need to keep an eye on them.

MY DOG IS ON A LOW PROTEIN DIET, CAN THEY STILL HAVE YOUR TREATS?
A customer recently found out her dog has the beginning of kidney disease so she needs to be very mindful of how much protein and phosphorus her dog takes in each day. She asked us if we knew how much protein and phosphorus are in our treats. We did the nutritional analysis for her and determined that each Good Paws treat (1 square) has approximately .67 grams of protein and 9 milligrams (mg) of phosphorus. These values are similar for all 3 recipes. With this information and guidance from her veterinarian, our customer is able to determine how many treats her dog can have each day. Hopefully this information is helpful for you if your dog is in a similar situation.

We strive to get your treats out 1 to 2 days after you have ordered them. You will always receive an email letting you know when they have shipped. We use UPS Ground service for shipping.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
Having our own business is definitely an evolutionary process. At some point, the internal push came to start something to blend our desire to help people better connect with their companion animals and provide a product that we hope they would love.
