Can We Have Another Party?

Sometimes we wonder if our pets remember the things we do for them…

We know they enjoy moments experienced at the time,

But because of the following story, I know for sure those moments and memories leave a lasting impression in our animals’ hearts.

It started with a Doggie Birthday party

Such was the case when he had a doggie birthday party for our yellow Labrador Retriever named Sumo (he was big…)

When Sumo was turning 2 years old, I asked if we could have a doggie birthday party to mark the occasion at his doggie daycare place called Wunderdog.  Wunderdog was a family run business headed by Lynn Wunderli – an amazing trainer and dog caretaker.  She has since moved her operations from New Hampshire to Madison Wisconsin – and all the pups there greatly benefit from her work.

Sumo’s “Aunty Lynn” totally supported the idea of a doggie birthday party, and made it a really festive occasion for us all - people and pups!

All of the dogs at the birthday party are patiently waiting to receive their piece of doggie birthday cake

You can see above how all of Lynn’s clients love and respect her by waiting their turn for getting a piece of doggie birthday cake.

It was a GREAT time filled with laughter and fun as Sumo had his friends around him celebrating his special day.

Sumo loved the day so much, he jumped on a director’s chair to give his Aunty Lynn a big kiss.

Within the next year, I took an Animal Communication class

I saw an ad for an animal communication class at a local metaphysical bookstore.  Animal communication is the practice of telepathically communicating with all of life, and is especially helpful for working with our companion animals.  We had Sumo at the time, and I thought telepathic communication would be fun thing to learn about; I actually felt called to take it.

I really enjoyed the class, and met a woman named Claire who took the class as well.  We became friends and would call each other or email once in a while to keep up.  At some point, Claire moved from Massachusetts back to her original home near Toronto.  Again we occasionally emailed, but didn’t really keep up with each other as much as we had in the past.

About 5 years go by…

One day at work, and out of the blue, I get an email from Claire saying the following:

I (Claire) had a dream last night and Sumo came to visit and talk with me.  Sumo told me "he wanted a party before he departed this earth like the one he had before".  Sumo said if she described the request to me in that way, I would know what he meant.  And he also said to say that I “would not regret it”.

On so many levels this was quite a message to get…

- Firstly, Sumo had been recently diagnosed with cancer.  By the time we found out about it, it had already spread throughout his body so we decided not to treat it and just make his final time with us as loving as possible.

- Claire did not know Sumo had cancer, so Sumo’s comment “before departing the earth” came straight from him, not me.

- Secondly, I knew that Claire had very practiced psychic abilities so I completely trusted what she had to say.

- Thirdly, I don’t even think Claire knew about his birthday party (5 years prior no less) because I took the class with her after that time.

When Sumo told her I would know what he meant by saying he wanted a party, I totally got the message – he was referring to the Birthday party we had for him at Wunderdog when he was 2 as described above.

Have to say, I was a little taken back by the part of “not regretting it…”  There is a lot to unravel there, but as in all communication, the animals speak to our hearts from theirs so I have to keep that in mind with love and acceptance.  Maybe he thought the party was going to be a lot of work?

We are having another party!

We were still clients of Wunderdog, so when we told Lynn about Sumo wanting another party, she was all in!

We set a date rather quickly for the party, made sure it was a day most of his doggie and people friends were there, and I made the same cake we had before.

The day of the party was truly a festive affair.  Sumo’s energy seemed really good, and the weather was beautiful. Sumo's doggie friends wait by the gate for other friends to arrive.

Many of his doggie and people friends were there, and I truly know he enjoyed the day…

Cracks me up that Lynn Wunderli and I dressed EXACTLY the same and I swear we did not call each other ahead of time…

We recreated the whole cake scene which I think Sumo truly enjoyed

The Orbs show up…

What I didn’t expect however, and didn’t see until later that night when I looked at the pictures, was how we also had “unseen guests” at the party that day too.

I totally believe in addition to us physical beings, there are “unseen beings” – call them angels, spirit guides, ancestors that have passed – there is a whole range of possibilities and they enjoy sharing a great time as well!

This party was held in 2010 – before the time of everyone having a camera on their phone.  The pictures I took that day were from a small, digital camera.  I have seen orbs in the past with this camera, and they show up as circular images with complex patterns of light – and… they tend to only show during times of great joy!

If you look closely at some of these images, I believe that is who is making themselves known to us.  (With my camera, they showed up more easily against a dark background in the basement with low light)  Those are not big and little spots on our black pants - LOL!  Also check out the little orbs behind the dog in the center's right ear on his black patch.

Doggies are waiting for their treats and the orbs are right there with them

Another view of doggies and orbs at the party

And below is one of my favorite orb pictures -(right above Sumo's hat), even though I think he was getting very tired by this point during his party…

We ALL had such a wonderful time letting this special dog know how much we appreciated him.

It was an honor to have him in our lives.  He touched SO MANY people!  We have a million stories of how he made so many of us laugh ALL THE TIME!  And it was such an amazing afternoon to see him enjoy being surrounded by his physical and non-physical friends that day.

He passed not long after that party.  But I do know the party is what he wanted to experience, and he enjoyed it very, very much.

So make those great memories with your animals.

They TRULY remember and treasure those moments just as much as we do!

I don’t know of anything better than sharing times like this together.
